No phone service

Why do I not have a dial tone. also when I try to ring my phone from my mobile I get a Strange tone. My broadband is still working at 262kbps download and just over 10kbps upload. Can someone from Smart please explain why this is happening.. Thanks.

Its working again thanks to you techie people at Smart. Pity eircom weren't as prompt as you guys maybe they wouldn't be losing so many customers.. Thanks again...

All smart phone lines linked to the Windmill Road exchange in Cork City seem to be down. My own home number as well as friends and family lines are down. Can someone let us know what the problem is. Broadband is still fine but the phone service is out of commision.
