Hi guys,
I received my router on Tuesday and yesterday evening when I got home the phone number was activated so I set about getting the bb up and running.
I've set up the wireless network with no problems (once I got the latest WPA drivers for my nic) and can connect to the router no problem.
However the ADSL light is constantly flashing. Once or twice last night for a few minutes it went to solid but I still couldn't get out. According to the router status pages on one occasion I wasn't getting any ip addresses and on others the dsl page has a status of up but nothing else has any values. I tried both splitters in case I had a faulty one but no joy.
The phone is working perfectly.
I'm on the Nangor Rd. exchange btw.

Hi TKK,
In order that one of us can examine your line's statistics - we need to know your Smart telephone number. What we are asking our users to do is add this information to their profile, as mentioned in this thread (http://support.smarttelecom.ie/forums/showthread.php?t=36).
Only the Smart administrators will be able to view this information after you add it to your profile.
Can you update your profile and PM me when it's done and I will look into this for you?
Thanks,
Al :)

Hello TKK,
I must apologise if you had included that information already - I somehow managed to miss it when last I checked. Unfortunately I am not seeing statistics for your line at present - which may in fact be related to your modem's sporadic connectivity.
If possible can you leave your modem powered up and connected to the phone point directly (bypassing the DSL splitter) this evening? I will contact you shortly to discuss this in some further detail.
Thanks a million :)

I can pop down to the house and do this now. I'll let you know when it's done.

Hi TKK,
Please don't rush off - there is no need to do that, because I am wondering whether there may be another issue here. Currently the phone number that you have listed in your profile is not registered in our database.
Is it possible that there could be a typo on that? If you want to PM me some specifics - I may already have information regarding your line...
Thanks,
Al :)

Goddamnit. I noticed at one point last night that the connection appeared to be up and running. I tried pinging the servers and, while it was definitely taking longer to decide, it was still failing. Just as I decided to try a tracert something knocked out a trip switch in the house and that was the end of that. Nothing since. :(
