:) I'm not a HTML or VB tech, so can someone tell me in simple terms how to insert an image into a post?
If I click on the insert image icon it asks me to enter the URL address for the image. My problem is that the image is a jpg file on my PC? so whats with the URL address???
Basically what I wanted to do was this.
Run a broadband speed test.
Take a screen shot of the results.
Save it as a jpg file on my PC
And insert it into a post.
Can anyone educate me? :o
all you do is start at the beginning of something and click and hold the mouse and drag it to the end then let go whilst this stuff is highlighted(shaded blue) press the ctrl and ins key at the same time to copy and shift and ins to paste

Thanks for that Johnmd. But........
The paste option will only work within a post for text.
It won't work for me with an image that's copied to the clipboard.
When I copy a jpg image & return to the post, the paste option is disabled.
Then I saw the option in the post/reply page to insert an image, but when I choose this option it asks me to enter the url address for the image.
The problem is that the image I want to insert is a jpg file on the hard drive of my PC.

When you're posting, look just below the box where you type your post in and click the "Manage Attachments" button. Use this to upload the images you want and once you post, a link to each image will appear as part of your post.
Hope this helps :)

Thanks for the Info, but I still am a bit puzzled by the URL for the image.
I uploaded the image as you described (no problem)
But when I want to insert it I clicked on the insert link & the insert image button & both of them ask me to enter the URL for the image. I don't know what the URL address for the image is Jesus I must be pure thick
PS, Now I'm really confused!!!! When I posted this reply the test image just appeared (Divine intervention) maybe it has something to do with the Davinci Code!!!!
Does this mean that once you have attachments uploaded they all appear in your post or can you control this?

The image you attached appears to be working fine for me! :D
You might want to size down images in future, people on dialup or with small screen resolutions mightn't be too happy with large pictures hogging their screen and bandwidth!!! :D
Anyway, here's what I typed out in the PM to you, which is another way of uploading images:
First of all, you can upload the image onto ImageShack, www.imageshack.us. Once you upload the image there, you'll be given a URL to link to that image (you're given 8 or 9 different URLs - the one you want is "Direct Link To Image" which is down the bottom IIRC). Copy this full link.
Then, go to the post screen, and use Insert Image function of the post screen and when it asks you for that URL, post the ImageShack URL in there. Alternatively, you can just paste the URL into the post screen and then add "IMG", with a [] around it to the start of the URL, and "/IMG" to the end, again with a [] around it, so it should look something like this [ IMG ] *url goes here* [ /IMG ] - obviously, there shouldn't be any spaces there but I have no way of typing in the tags without it trying to link to an image.

Thanks a bunch. At last I got an answer that I understood.
That image was just for test purposes & I really didn't realise it was so large.
I will remove it as soon as I post this reply
Anyway that was an attached file that went into the post all by it's self.
Does that mean that once you have files uploaded they get put into your post regardless? or can you control this?
Finally, what would be the norm for the size of an image be?
Thanks again for the assistance :p

I'd say 800x600 would be good - basically try and keep it so that it doesn't cause the threads to go out of shape as the image is too wide.
