I am with Smart now for a month. Speed test on-site gives me 1.7mbit down, but has problem with upload-speed, does not do at all.
I use the Aolynx. Based in Cork.
Problem: When I switch on Bittorrent, I can be connected for 2-3 hours or for only 15 minutes. Then connection drops. Either both LED's are constantly green or one is green and the other is out.
In both cases I can not access the router-page http://192.168.1.1/
Once I plug out the power-cable from modem, it instantly reconnects.
I was on to tech support and they gave me already a preffered DNS / IP etc.
this did not help. They told me there is a way to "bridge" the modem.
Any help appreciated.

hi andy,

some customers have reported problems with their dsl modem requiring a reboot when they start a large number of simultaneous connections as happens when connected to some peer to peer networks.

if what you are experiencing is related to this then we've been told by our vendor that they are going to have a firmware update to address that issue within the next month(seeing is believing though!).

Hi there,
Could the problem be resolved by using another DSL modem?
Or is it a backbone-problem?
Thanks

Either put the modem into bridge mode or buying a new router should fix the issue.

I highly doubt its a backbone problem as internet sites in general would be slow/non responsive/crappy ping times.

Rumour has it thats whats plaguing a certain wireless broadband company and if you look on boards you see the effect
