Okay, I know it's probably been asked before, but I'm too lazy to search through pages and pages to find the answer. Ive just bought a Dell laptop with built in wireless. I'm using the standard Aolynk DR814 for my PC, but now I want to go wireless. What wireless router works best with the Aolynk?
Thanks in advance, Barry. |

I've got a Netgear DG843G and it was a breeze to set up and has never given me any trouble apart from the wrong login credentials in the manual - the correct credentials were in the appendix. Don't know if they still manufacture them though -you might pick one up.
My advice would be to get a router with a modem - its easier to set up and only a bit more expensive. Just make sure that it supports ADSL2+ |

The best wireless router to get is a "Lazy Searcher" manufactured by "GOOGLE"

I use a Belkin F5D7633 ADSL2+ wireless router/modem.
Its so stable b ut there is a caveat. Any that come with the latest firmware are a disaster - v 1.00.17. I had upgraded mine and the router kept locking up but thankfully I found a hack on another forum to revert back to the previous (v 1.00.11) firmware as the web ui won't let you do this. Those running v 1.00.11 firmware are great.

What about this one?
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Netgear-DG83...4431330&sr=1-1 It doesn't mention ASDL2+ or Windows Vista, can I assume it's compatible? As always, excuse my ignorance and many thanks for your help. Barry. |

Peats have a very good value offer at the moment Netgear 834N wireless/router/modem with laptop N card for 99 euros.
http://www.peats.com/cgi-bin/test_ne...120&scid=20006 Thats a very good price for a package like that. Gets ok reviews here: http://www.broadbandbuyer.co.uk/Shop...ProductID=3474 Netgears generally behave well with Smart from posts on here and boards.ie however as always be aware that the behaviour of wireless equipment is notoriously unpredictable - generally works well but... |
