This does indeed sound very interesting, Looks likely that I'll move to Smart from BT Business next year

Janer,

We'll take our time on deciding on pricing. I appreciate that other operators have been testing higher speed services (NTL/ eircom). We've offered the upgrade because it was the right thing to do (we reckon), not testing for some future upgrade scenario. If we were testing, we'd just offer everyone up to 24Mb for Christmas (we're not doing that).

Name a reasonable price for 6Mb/512kb, or some combination and a serious rationale (for the love of sweet Jesus, especially at this time of year, don't quote France) and it will help inform our arguement.

Garfield.

Metro are doing 6Mb/2Mb for about 300 quid inc vat monthly and with a 120Gb cap.

To compete I'd say cheaper then that (upload difference mainly, because this would be a business aimed package I'd think anyway and people would be looking at upload) and no cap.

I don't know the business nor claim to do so you can slap me with a wet fish as I have no idea of the cost of such a product.

e300 AND a cap? There'll be no cap on Smart's equivalent service. Especially not with a substantial 5% discount

Garfield.

Well Garfield alot of rival isps will be following Eircoms lead and increasing speed including Netscource so that price of Metros that TimTim mentioned is deceiving.
and NTL will be 10mb
I like 6-8mb with 1 gig up but of course I would "settle" for 6mb/512
€35 at the moment for 2mb/128 so I think €40-50 with maybe €45 as fair, I would love €40 of course
